Assisted Living

Defined as a combination of housing and personal supportive services designed to meet the needs of persons needing help with the activities of daily living (ADLs), but do not need the skilled medical care provided in a nursing home. Assisted living is regulated and licensed in all 50 states and may be referred to as many different things including: board & care homes, residential care homes, personal care homes, adult foster care, homes for the aged, adult family or group homes, and many more. Assisted living is primarily private pay, meaning it is paid for by the individual or long-term care insurance.
