Golden West will host a screening of Eric Liu’s 2019 TED Talk, “How to Believe in a Democracy Again,” followed by a group discussion in the Aspen Room on Tuesday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. Recently presented at TED2019, this talk discusses how to “rekindle the spirit of citizenship” and the belief that democracy still works. This TED Talk includes advice on making civic engagement a regular habit and how doing so can build communities with shared values and create a sense of belonging. Liu is the CEO of Citizen University, a nonprofit organization creating programs to create a stronger culture of citizenship by developing a greater sense of individual responsibility to community. This screening is free and open to the public in the Aspen Room at Golden West, but space is limited. Please RSVP by calling (303) 939-0883. Golden West is located at 1055 Adams Circle.
