The PPACG Area Agency on Aging and the Social Security Administration are partnering for the fifth year to present Social Security 101, “Understanding Your Social Security Benefits”. As people begin to approach Social Security, they may see a flood of information that may or may not be fully accurate. Josh Weller, a Public Affairs Specialist gives us professional and expert information directly from Social Security Administration.
Our first presentation of the year will be held January 25th at 4:00 PM. Registration is required at ppacg.org/events. All classes are provided at no cost.
The educational presentation is for people approaching retirement age, adult children and interested people. This session will cover many of the common retirement questions including:
* Eligibility for retirement
* How age affects retirement benefits
* How work affects retirement benefits
Also discussed are spousal, children’s, survivor, and disability benefits with the qualifications and application process for each. Those attending this program are encouraged to set up a “my Social Security” account online at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount.
The 2021 Social Security 101 presentations are from 4:00-5:30 PM. Classes will be held January 25th, March 29th, May 24th, July 26th, September 27th and November 15th.
