A 2013 study concluded that intermittent fasting may lower inflammation by reducing oxidative stress in cells. Inflammation has been identified as a contributor to many chornic illness as well s chronic pain. Intermittent fasting has been shown to be as effective as limiting calorie intake at reducing insulin resistance and weight loss.
