About the Artist:
"After 30 plus years working in advertising and marketing, I retired to pursue my love of painting, photography, writing, and golf. I reached the pinnacle of my career as a Group Creative Director for Fidelity Investments while living in Boston. I moved back to Dallas, TX to be closer to my family, and plan my retirement. I’ve been focused solely on my art these past five years and have come to realize I love color. Bold, loud, and brave colors that jump off the page. My motto is Be Brave-Be Bold. I mostly work in Duo Oils on canvas and tackle my work from a graphic artist angle, having cut my teeth designing for magazine and print ads. It is represented in my work through the use of strong subjects, unapologetic color, solid composition, and at times the use of typography.
As you probably already know Texans love Colorado, mostly because it's not flat! We were coming up every year or so to ski, bike, golf and/or hike. In 2017 we decided to look around the entire state for a second home, so we could come on a regular basis now that I'm retired. We searched everywhere for a house that had a little ruggedness, a view, proximity to an airport, as well as fine dining, shopping, music venues, and an art community. The Roaring Fork Valley has it all! Our home is up in Missouri Heights with a stunning view of Mount Sopris. We are here from May - Oct. and fly back a few times in the winter to ski. We feel like we hit the jackpot!" -Cindy Higby
