Vintage Theatre presents “Young Frankenstein”

Vintage Theatre Productions   Young Frankenstein Music & Lyrics by Mel Brooks, Book by Mel Brooks & Thomas Meehan   Directed by Linda Suttle Music direction by Brandon Bill Choreography by Adrianne Hampton   September 17 – October 31, 2021 Nickelsen Auditorium Vintage Theatre Productions presents the legendary Mel Brooks stage adaptation of “Young Frankenstein” September 17 through October 31. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. at Vintage Theatre, 1468 Dayton St. in Aurora. Tickets ranging from $20 - $38 are on sale by calling 303-856-7830 or online at www.vintagetheatre.org.  It’s Alive! From the creators of Broadway‘s record-breaking musical comedy sensation, The Producers, comes "Young Frankenstein" a monster of a hit musical based on Mel Brooks’ classic comedy film masterpiece. This wickedly inspired re-imagining of the legend of Frankenstein is the story of the bright young doctor Frankenstein (that’s Fronkensteen) who travels to Transylvania to complete the masterwork of his grandfather by bringing a corpse to life. The "Young Frankenstein” cast includes Cooper Kaminsky (Dr. Frankenstein), Bryan Plummer (Igor), Miranda Byers (Elizabeth), Scotty Shaffer (Kemp/Hermit), Christine Carter Kahane (Frau Blucher), Colby Resigner (Inga) and Jeffrey Betsch (the monster). The ensemble members are Stephanie Garcia, Killee Faria, Michael Jones, Jenny Weiss Mather, Sophia Montoya-Suson, Caleb Sporrer, Logan Traver, Sonsharae Tull, Kong Vang and Ronan Viard. “Young Frankenstein” is based on the 1974 comedy film of the same name written by Brooks and Gene Wilder and directed by Brooks.  It is a parody of the horror film genre, especially the 1931 Universal Pictures adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and its 1939 sequel, Son of Frankenstein. Vintage Theatre presents “Young Frankenstein” The hilarious musical based on the Mel Brooks classic film masterpiece.  Sept 17 – Oct 31, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.  $20 - $38 - 303-856-7830 or online at www.vintagetheatre.org.  Vintage Theatre, 1468 Dayton St., Aurora 80010.  Running time 2 hours 40 minutes with intermission.  Recommended for all ages.

It's almost time for Bountiful Bags, and you can help!

It's almost time for Bountiful Bags, and you can help! Silver Key serves thousands of seniors in the Pikes Peak region with a variety of services to help older adults maintain independence, safety, and a healthy quality of life. Every year, Silver Key conducts an annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, fondly referred to as “Bountiful Bags”. This drive helps provide a full Thanksgiving meal to seniors and their families that, without our help, would likely not have a holiday meal at all. Silver Key relies on the generosity of our neighbors and businesses to keep our pantry stocked throughout the year. The need is always great and is especially high around the holidays as we try to make this time of year feel special for seniors who are not only facing food insecurity or diminishing resource, but also battling social isolation. Hosting your own Bountiful Bags Thanksgiving Food Drive is a fantastic way to support your community and is also a fun and meaningful way to engage your family, friends, co-workers, and employees in helping seniors remain healthy, happy, and independent. Active Minds Presents - Voting Rights

Water may well become the most disputed natural resource of the 21st century. Population growth, climate change, urbanization and other factors have put increasing pressure on a finite resource. Competing water interests have affected Colorado’s history for over 100 years. The legal right to divert and use water in Colorado has been debated, legislated and litigated since before the time of statehood in 1876. Join Active Minds as we seek to understand our water history, the current challenges, and what the future holds for our use of this precious resource. Location: RiverPointe, 5225 S Prince St, Littleton, CO 80123... mapCost: FreeRSVP required (limited seating): RiverPointe: 303-797-0600Other: Attendees must wear face coverings or show proof of vaccination

Active Minds Presents - Voting Rights

Although we think of the United States as a democratic republic beginning with adoption of our Constitution in 1787, relatively few people could vote at that time. Much of our history has featured debates about who should have a say in government policy through the exercise of the right to vote. In recent years, the debate has focused on election integrity and the ease of access to voting. Join Active Minds as we explore this history and set the stage for the debates over voting rights that rage in 2021 and beyond. Location: Lakewood Reserve, 555 S Pierce St, Lakewood, CO 80226... mapCost: FreeRSVP Required (Limited Seating): 303-742-4800Other: Proof of vaccination required
