Position Description:

The primary purpose in maintenance is to maintain the ground, facility, and equipment in a safe efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures and as directed by your supervisor, to assure that a successful, viable, maintenance program is maintained at all times.

Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways

Repairs the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical

Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance services

Replace ballasts burned out light bulbs, to include exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights and call bell lights

Report all incidents/accidents to your supervisor immediately

Service heating and cooling units at all facilities

Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as requested

Attend and participate in in-services and workshops

Assure that the facility and its equipment is properly maintained for resident/patient comfort and convenience

Assure that work assignments areas are clean and equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored before leaving the area

Keep work area free of hazardous conditions

Follow established policies and procedures concerning infection control when performing maintenance services in isolation rooms

Perform and complete preventative maintenance schedule as set forth by the supervisor

Attend required in-service education training and staff meetings.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Ability to interact with team members, other staff, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.

Drug free work environment. Must pass drug screen and police background check.

Physical Demands:

Independent total lift – 80 lbs./ Two man lift – 180 lbs.

Sitting, standing, bending

Subject to frequent interruptions

Willingness to work beyond normal working hours

Required to be on-call for emergency conditions/situations

Education:

High School Graduate – HVAC
