Connecting With Relay Colorado

Making calls through Relay Colorado is liberating, enjoyable and convenient.

Relay Colorado, a no cost, 24-hour service, allows callers who are deaf, hard-of -hearing, deaf-blind or those who have a speech disability to call anybody using relay services.   All calls are confidential, and no records are kept.

Relay Service-Dial 711 and call anyone, anywhere, anytime with Relay Colorado. The Communication Assistance (CA) will dial the other party’s number and the CA will relay the conversation between the caller and the called party by typing or voicing.

Captioned Telephone (CapTel)-is for people with a hearing loss who prefer to speak, listen and read captions on the phone. This service is also available in Spanish.

Speech-to-Speech (STS)-is for people who have a speech disability or use a voice synthesizer. STS allows individuals to speak for themselves on the phone. The CA is specially trained to understand unique speech patterns. The CA repeats the words exactly as they are spoken to their caller to relay the message.

Relay Colorado Spanish-TTY users can type in Spanish and the conversations will be relayed in Spanish to the called party. TTY users can also request Spanish to English or English to Spanish translations via relay.

Voice Carry-Over (VCO)-is for people with hearing loss who prefer to speak. This service enables the person to use his/her voice and speak directly to the person on the other line.

Hearing Carry-Over (HCO)-is for people who can hear but are unable to speak. HCO allows users with a speech disability to listen to the other party. The HCO user types his/her conversation for the CA to voice to the standard telephone user and the standard telephone user speaks directly back to the HCO user.

Relay Conference Captioning (RCC)-allows deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals to actively participate in multi-party teleconference calls or web conferences by reading live captions through a web browser on a computer or mobile device.

 Colorado Communications Technology Program (CTP)-provides telecommunications equipment and accessories to qualified Colorado residents who are deaf or hard-of hearing; at no cost. Qualification is based on proof of hearing status, income, residency and telecommunication use.
